The Ori Learning SEL curriculum has been designed with secondary students at front of mind.  Videos have been developed with fresh content, styled to the youth of today, and with topics and activities to spark interest and discussion. Content includes engaging activities, opportunities to complete activities via programs current and familiar to students, and project based learning that extends into community practice and application.  All lessons have been built to be mature for the students age, but with text presented simply enough that all students can participate.

Each district has their own specific needs and standards, and as such, every district implements the Ori Learning curriculum differently.

Examples of SEL implementation models include (but are not limited to):

  • Tier 1 supports. Developed for daily/weekly instruction as well as to be infused throughout the instructional day to teach important skills and strategies for academic and classroom success (example in Math, Social Studies).
  • Tier 2 supports. Instruction is implemented with a small group or more individualized approach to support more specific student needs.
  • Tier 3 supports. Lessons are implemented with accommodations and modifications for individual students who have IEP goals or require higher levels of intervention.
  • Instruction as part of Health/Physical Education classes
  • As part of an elective credit class for high school students
  • To support ISS or alternative classroom settings
  • During counselor or social worker led scheduled sessions.

Many partners choose a weekly instructional implementation for Tier 1 instruction; however, all models can be customized based on the district’s goals and needs. Implementation models would be determined in initial meetings with leadership upon commencement of services.

The Ori Learning Solution has been designed so that both novice educators as well as veteran teachers and school counselors who have more expertise can implement with ease.

Every lesson comes with a lesson guide that offers a ready-to-teach approach if needed with step by step instructions. These guides are also available for an educator to view digitally once the lesson has started for easy reference.

Our partners have shared that their more veteran and experienced counselors and teachers love the platform as they can easily incorporate their own teaching style into the lessons and activity framework, as well as provide customized and individualized instruction for students who may need more support.
